About Me

Let me just share a bit of myself with you.

Most of my friends call me Tia, yet there are some who are too lazy to even pronounce a three-letter word and call me T instead. I’m 25 years old and I’d like to believe that I’m a writer and I’m most certainly a dreamer.

As far as I can remember, I’ve always had my nose stuck in a book. I used to walk around my grade school building reading children’s books like Sweet Valley, Nancy Drew, or The Baby-Sitters Club. That was the time I started to daydream. And this habit of mine has been with me for over a decade now.

My life, it seems, has been one huge daydream from the very beginning. Life wasn’t just what was happening around me. It was also what was taking place in my mind. And my love for books just fueled this hobby.

From children’s books, I graduated to romance, fantasy, mystery novels and life got even better. Reading, for me, was not just something to do to pass the time. It was a way of life. Audrey Niffenegger, Dan Brown, Neil Gaiman, Sophie Kinsella, J.K. Rowling, C.S. Lewis. They are not just well known authors. They are not just rousing writers. They have become my daily companions.

I’m also a dancer (of sorts). I danced ballet for over 7 years. I studied jazz, hip-hop and streetdancing. I was a cheerleader in high school. And I’m currently taking hip-hop classes in my free time.

Professionally, I’m a training coordinator for a multinational IT solutions company. I have no idea what I’m doing here, but it pays the bills. Eventually, though, I want to get into something more creative and satisfying. I mean, I didn’t major in Creative Writing for nothing, right?

On a more personal level… I enjoy hanging out with friends, watching movies, eating out, traveling and photography. I love mundane conversations over coffee. A night out at Hai for coco lychee martinis. Dancing to Britney Spears and Beyonce in front of my mirror. Playing my guitar as I sing songs of Jason Mraz, Coldplay, David Cook or Rihanna.

I definitely act like an adult sometimes, but a big part of me is still a kid at heart. While my immature side is definitely fun, I’m going to have to grow up sooner or later.

I’m a geek. A dancer. A dreamer. A writer.
